The SBA has chosen the program, commonly known as WOSB, as the guinea pig for technological changes at the SBA which will implement new regulatory changes.

Some of the changes happening include updating the WOSB program site with their beta site, requiring WOSBs to transfer all of their documents to the new site. It will also eliminate the self-certification option used to win set aside or sole source contracts.

The SBA recommends for all businesses to move to the new system as soon as possible in order to avoid losing access to any documents or data on the old website. In order for firms to receive a women owned small business set aside or a sole source opportunity, they must certify directly through the SBA, through an authorize federal or state entity or an authorized third-party certifier.

The changes to the WOSB Program can be overwhelming but the SBA urges firms to begin the transitioning process as soon as possible for a smooth transition.
